How reviews work

Every review on khalasna comes from a real customer of the business. Reviews are never removed for being negative.

Who can leave a review

• Verified job: a customer who chose the business through khalasna gets one email the day after the job date (or 3 days after choosing). Tapping a star opens a short form.
• Invited by the business: a business can invite past customers by email, up to 20 invites in 30 days. These reviews carry their own label and are always checked before publishing.

One review per job. The author can update it for 30 days; updated reviews show “updated”. Only the first name and initial are shown.

How reviews are checked

Each review goes through automatic checks: the network it was sent from, the email domain, many reviews for one business in a short time, text copied from other reviews, offensive language and personal data such as phone numbers. A verified-job review with no warning signs is published right away. Everything else is checked by the khalasna team, usually within one business day.

What businesses can and cannot do

• Reply once, in public, to each review.
• Report a review that breaks these rules: the review stays visible until the khalasna team decides, and the decision comes with a stated reason.
• Businesses cannot edit, hide or remove reviews, and cannot offer discounts, gifts or anything else in exchange for a review. Breaking this rule removes the invited reviews and the label.

What is removed

Reviews from people who were not customers, reviews written by the business or for a reward, offensive language, personal data, copied text and reviews about a different business.

Ratings

The star rating on a profile is the average of khalasna reviews. The Google rating is shown separately and is never mixed in. In search results, businesses are ranked with a weighted average, so a single 5-star review does not outrank dozens of 4.8-star reviews.
